Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damages to residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured clients.

• Clarify coverage details and assess damage estimates.

• Assist policyholders throughout the claims process while delivering exceptional service.

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other relevant parties.

• Collect information and resolve claims in a timely manner.

• Engage with individuals who may express strong emotions or concerns regarding inspections or claim outcomes.

• Provide customer support by addressing inquiries and concerns.

• Collect evidence, document findings, and compile comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures of up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to ensure claim validity and compliance with regulations.

• Negotiate and settle claims within established authority limits.

• Work remotely and utilize a mobile office/vehicle for in-person meetings.

• Occasionally travel outside the designated area to assist other regions.

• Highly experienced and skilled professional.

• Proficient in investigating issues, evaluating information, and making informed decisions.

• Capable of interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and applying them effectively.

• Quick to learn new concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Effective in interacting with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for handling challenging or emotional discussions.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools for documenting and managing claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physically capable of walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, lifting, carrying, unfolding, climbing ladders, traversing roofs, and maneuvering in confined spaces.

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• Valid driver's license is mandatory.

• Must successfully complete all required training, applicable proficiency/licensing exams, MVR checks, and background screenings.

• Willingness and ability to work flexible schedules, overtime, and/or irregular hours.

• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or a similar discipline.

• Preferred: Experience in customer service.

• Preferred: Knowledge of property insurance principles and claims handling practices.

• Preferred: Basic understanding of residential and commercial building construction and materials.

• Preferred: Familiarity with water mitigation principles and inspection procedures.

• Preferred: Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents software.
