Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damages to both residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial contact for insured clients.

• Clarify coverage details and assess damage estimates.

• Assist policyholders throughout the claims process while delivering exceptional service.

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other relevant parties.

• Collect information and resolve claims in an efficient manner.

• Engage with individuals who may exhibit strong emotions or concerns.

• Deliver outstanding customer service and address any inquiries or concerns.

• Collect evidence, document findings, and create comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to ensure claim validity and compliance with regulations.

• Negotiate and settle claims within designated authority limits.

• Operate from home while utilizing a mobile office or vehicle for in-person appointments.

• Conduct virtual work from home and occasionally travel outside the designated area to support other territories.

• Fulfill necessary training and assessments.

• Proficient in interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and applying them accurately.

• Quick learner of unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Capable of interacting effectively with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing difficult or emotional conversations.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools to document and manage claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physically able to walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, lift, carry, unfold, climb ladders, traverse roofs, and navigate tight spaces.

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Must successfully complete all necessary training, proficiency, and licensing exams, as well as MVR checks and background checks.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or related fields.

• Preferred: Experience in customer service.

• Preferred: Knowledge of property insurance concepts and claims handling practices.

• Preferred: Familiarity with residential and commercial construction and building materials.

• Preferred: Understanding of water mitigation principles and inspection processes.

• Preferred: Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.

• Flexible in working schedules, including the ability to work overtime and irregular hours.
