Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damage to residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured individuals.

• Clarify coverage details and assess damage estimates.

• Assist policyholders throughout the claims process while delivering exceptional service.

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other stakeholders to collect information and resolve claims.

• Engage with individuals who may express strong emotions or concerns.

• Provide customer support and address questions and issues.

• Collect evidence, document findings, and compile comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust claims for personal and commercial properties with exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to ensure claim validity and compliance with regulations.

• Negotiate and settle claims within designated authority limits.

• Operate from home while utilizing a mobile office/vehicle for in-person meetings.

• Cover the Midland/Odessa/Big Spring region and occasionally assist other areas.

• Adapt to flexible schedules, including overtime and irregular hours as necessary.

• Capability to investigate issues, assess information, and make well-informed decisions.

• Proficiency in interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and applying them accurately.

• Quick learner, able to grasp unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Strong ability to effectively interact with policyholders, agents, and various stakeholders.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing difficult or emotional discussions.

• Detail-oriented with robust organizational and analytical capabilities.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools for documenting and supporting claims.

• Physical capability for activities such as walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, stooping, lifting, carrying, unfolding, climbing ladders, navigating roofs, and crawling in confined spaces.

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• Valid driver's license is required.

• Successful completion of necessary training, proficiency and licensing exams, MVR checks, and background investigations.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Preferred: Experience in customer service.

• Preferred: Knowledge of property insurance concepts and claims handling practices.

• Preferred: Basic understanding of residential and commercial building construction and materials.

• Preferred: Familiarity with water mitigation principles and inspection methods.

• Preferred: Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents software.
