Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damage to residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured clients.

• Clarify coverage details and assess damages.

• Assist policyholders through the claims process while delivering exceptional service.

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other stakeholders.

• Collect information and resolve claims promptly.

• Maintain professional interaction with individuals expressing strong emotions or concerns.

• Provide customer support and address any questions or issues.

• Compile evidence, document observations, and create comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust claims for personal and commercial properties with exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy stipulations for claim legitimacy and compliance with regulations.

• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.

• Work remotely and utilize a mobile office/vehicle for field visits.

• Occasionally travel outside the designated area to support other territories.

• Ability to interpret intricate policies, guidelines, or technical details and apply them accurately.

• Quick adaptability to learn new concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Proficient in effectively engaging with policyholders, agents, and other involved parties.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for challenging or emotional discussions.

• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and analytical capabilities.

• Competence in using mobile and desktop tools for documenting and supporting claims.

• Physical agility required for walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, lifting, carrying, unfolding, and climbing ladders.

• Ability to use suitable equipment to navigate roofs at various heights and angles.

• Capability to crawl in confined spaces.

• May be required to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• Valid driver's license is mandatory.

• Must successfully finish required training, relevant proficiency and licensing examinations, MVR checks, and background screenings.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or similar disciplines.

• Preferred: Experience in customer service.

• Preferred: Familiarity with property insurance principles and claims processing.

• Preferred: Basic understanding of residential and commercial building construction and materials.

• Preferred: Knowledge of water mitigation principles and inspection methodologies.

• Preferred: Proficiency in Xactimate and XactContents software.

• Willingness and ability to work flexible schedules, overtime, and irregular hours.

• Must reside within one of the specified Greenwood-area ZIP codes and serve the corresponding territory.
