Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damage to both residential and commercial properties.

• Act as the initial point of contact for insured individuals, clarifying coverage, assessing damages, and guiding them through the claims process.

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other parties involved to collect information and resolve claims efficiently.

• Manage interactions with individuals expressing strong emotions or concerns regarding their claims.

• Deliver customer service and address inquiries and concerns throughout the claims journey.

• Collect evidence, document findings, and compile comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures reaching up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to determine claim validity and ensure compliance with regulations.

• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.

• Operate remotely while utilizing a mobile office/vehicle for in-person appointments.

• Travel beyond the assigned area when providing assistance to other territories.

• Proficiency in interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and applying them accurately.

• Ability to quickly grasp unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Skillful in interacting effectively with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for navigating difficult or emotional conversations.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools to document and support claims.

• Physical capacity to walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, stoop, lift, carry, unfold, climb ladders, traverse roofs, and maneuver in tight spaces.

• May be required to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• Valid driver's license is mandatory.

• Must successfully complete necessary training, relevant proficiency and licensing exams, Motor Vehicle Record checks, and background investigations.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or similar.

• Preferred: Experience in customer service.

• Preferred: Familiarity with property insurance concepts and claims handling practices.

• Preferred: Knowledge of residential and commercial building construction and materials.

• Preferred: Understanding of water mitigation principles and inspection processes.

• Preferred: Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents software.

• Willingness and ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and/or irregular hours.
