Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damage to residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured individuals.

• Clarify coverage details and assess the extent of damages.

• Assist policyholders throughout the claims process while delivering outstanding service.

• Work collaboratively with policyholders, insurance agents, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and resolve claims.

• Engage with individuals who may display strong emotions or concerns.

• Provide excellent customer service while addressing inquiries and concerns.

• Collect evidence, document findings, and compile comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to evaluate claim legitimacy and adherence to regulations.

• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.

• Operate from home and utilize a mobile office/vehicle for in-person meetings.

• Cover the assigned territory and occasionally travel to assist other regions.

• Adapt to flexible schedules, including overtime and irregular hours as required by business needs.

• Physical agility for tasks such as walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, lifting, carrying, unfolding, and climbing ladders.

• Ability to utilize appropriate equipment for traversing roofs at various heights and pitches.

• Capacity to crawl in confined spaces.

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check will be conducted as part of the pre-employment background screening.

• Successful completion of mandatory training, relevant proficiency and licensing exams, MVR checks, and background checks is required.

• Previous customer service experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with property insurance concepts is preferred.

• Basic understanding of residential and commercial building construction and materials is preferred.

• Knowledge of water mitigation principles and inspection processes is preferred.

• Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents is preferred.
