Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damages to both residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured individuals.

• Clarify coverage details and assess damages.

• Assist policyholders throughout the claims process while delivering exceptional service.

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other relevant parties.

• Collect information and efficiently resolve claims.

• Engage with individuals who may display strong emotions or concerns.

• Provide outstanding customer service and address any inquiries or concerns.

• Gather evidence, document findings, and prepare comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures of up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to ensure claim validity and compliance with regulations.

• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.

• Primarily operate in the field from a home-based mobile office or vehicle.

• Complete virtual work from home.

• Travel outside the designated area when assisting other territories.

• Proficient in interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and applying them accurately.

• Quick learner of unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Effectively interact with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for handling challenging or emotional conversations.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools for documenting and supporting claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physical capability to walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, stoop, lift, carry, unfold, and climb ladders.

• Ability to utilize appropriate equipment for traversing roofs of various heights and pitches.

• Capability to crawl in confined spaces.

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Successful completion of all required training, proficiency and licensing examinations, MVR checks, and background checks.

• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or similar discipline.

• Customer service experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with property insurance concepts is preferred.

• Basic understanding of residential and commercial building construction and components/materials is preferred.

• Knowledge of water mitigation principles and inspection processes is preferred.

• Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents is preferred.

• Must reside within one of the eligible zip codes and service the corresponding territory.

• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime and/or irregular hours.
