Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damages to residential and commercial properties

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured individuals

• Clarify coverage details and assess damages

• Assist policyholders throughout the claims process while delivering exceptional service

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other relevant parties

• Collect information and resolve claims effectively

• Engage with individuals who may display strong emotions or concerns

• Provide outstanding customer service and respond to questions and issues

• Collect evidence, document findings, and create comprehensive reports

• Investigate and adjust claims related to personal and commercial properties with exposures up to $500,000

• Assess coverage and policy terms to ensure claim validity and compliance with regulations

• Negotiate and resolve claims within authorized limits

• Operate from a home office and utilize a mobile office/vehicle for field appointments

• Travel beyond the designated area to support other territories

• Adapt to flexible schedules, including overtime and irregular hours as required by business needs

• Highly skilled and experienced professional

• Capable of investigating issues, assessing information, and making sound decisions

• Competent in interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, and technical information, applying them accurately

• Quick learner of unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology

• Proficient in effectively engaging with policyholders, agents, and other involved parties

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for handling challenging or emotional conversations

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools to document and support claims both in the field and remotely

• Physical capability to walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, stoop, lift, carry, unfold, climb ladders, traverse roofs, and crawl in tight spaces

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training

• Valid driver's license is mandatory

• Willingness and ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and irregular hours

• Must successfully complete the required training, pass applicable proficiency and licensing exams, and undergo MVR and background checks

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or a similar discipline is preferred

• Experience in customer service is advantageous

• Familiarity with property insurance concepts and general claims handling practices is preferred

• Basic understanding of residential and commercial building construction and materials is preferred

• Knowledge of water mitigation principles and inspection processes is preferred

• Proficient in Xactimate and XactContents is preferred
