Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Manage claims related to accidents and weather events for residential properties, commercial assets, and significant losses.

• Carry out on-site evaluations and inspections of damage to both residential and commercial properties.

• Act as the initial point of contact for insured clients, clarifying coverage, estimating damages, and assisting customers throughout the claims process.

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other stakeholders to collect information and resolve claims effectively.

• Deliver outstanding customer service while addressing inquiries and concerns.

• Collect evidence, document findings, and create comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust claims for personal and commercial properties with potential exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to ensure claim validity and compliance with regulations.

• Negotiate and settle claims within designated authority limits.

• Work remotely and utilize a mobile office or vehicle for in-person meetings.

• Perform virtual tasks from home and occasionally travel outside the designated area to support other regions.

• Maintain flexible work schedules, including the possibility of overtime and irregular hours.

• Highly experienced and skilled professional.

• Proficient in investigating issues, evaluating information, and making well-founded decisions.

• Capable of interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and applying them accurately.

• Quick to learn new concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Able to engage effectively with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for handling challenging or emotional discussions.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in utilizing mobile and desktop tools for documenting and supporting claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physically capable of walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, stooping, lifting, carrying, unfolding, climbing ladders, traversing roofs, and crawling in confined spaces.

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Successful completion of necessary training, relevant proficiency and licensing exams, MVR checks, and background investigations.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or a similar discipline is preferred.

• Prior customer service experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with property insurance concepts and claims handling practices is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of residential and commercial building construction and materials is preferred.

• Awareness of water mitigation principles and inspection processes is preferred.

• Experience with Xactimate and XactContents software is preferred.
