Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damage to residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured clients.

• Clarify coverage details and assess damages.

• Assist policyholders throughout the claims process while delivering outstanding service.

• Work in conjunction with policyholders, insurance agents, and other relevant parties to collect information and resolve claims.

• Engage with individuals who may express strong emotions or concerns regarding inspections or claims resolutions.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and address any inquiries or concerns.

• Collect evidence, document findings, and produce comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with potential exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to ascertain claim validity and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits, adhering to policy provisions, industry standards, and company guidelines.

• Operate from home and utilize a mobile office/vehicle for in-person appointments.

• Occasionally travel outside the designated area to provide support to other territories.

• Highly experienced and skilled professional.

• Capable of investigating issues, evaluating information, and making well-informed decisions.

• Proficient in interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and applying them accurately.

• Quick to learn unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Effective in interacting with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for handling difficult or emotional conversations.

• Detail-oriented, possessing robust organizational and analytical skills.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools to document and support claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physically agile, capable of frequent lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, navigating roofs at various heights, and crawling into tight spaces.

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Must reside within one of the specified zip codes and service the corresponding territory.

• Willing and able to work flexible schedules, including overtime and/or irregular hours.

• A Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in Property Claims is preferred.

• Relevant coursework and internship/fieldwork experience are encouraged.

• In-depth knowledge of property insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling practices.

• Familiarity with residential and commercial building construction.

• Experience in water mitigation inspections.

• Proficiency in Xactimate and XactContents.

• Successful completion of required training, applicable proficiency and licensing exams, MVR checks, and background checks.
