Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damages to residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured clients.

• Clarify coverage details and assess damage estimates.

• Assist policyholders through the claims process while delivering outstanding service.

• Collaborate with insured clients, insurance agents, and other relevant parties.

• Collect information and efficiently resolve claims.

• Engage with individuals who may express strong emotions or concerns.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and respond to inquiries and issues.

• Collect evidence, document findings, and compose thorough reports.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposure limits up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to validate claims and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Negotiate and finalize claims within authorized limits.

• Travel beyond the designated area when required to support other regions.

• Capable of investigating issues, assessing information, and making well-supported decisions.

• Proficient in interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and applying them accurately.

• Quick learner of unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Effective in interacting with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for handling difficult or emotional discussions.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools for documenting and supporting claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physically agile for activities such as walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, lifting, carrying, unfolding, and climbing ladders.

• Capable of using appropriate equipment and navigating roofs of various heights and pitches.

• Able to crawl in confined spaces.

• May be required to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• Valid driver's license is mandatory.

• Motor Vehicle Record check is part of the pre-employment background check.

• Successful completion of necessary training, applicable proficiency and licensing exams, MVR checks, and background checks is required.

• Preferred bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Preferred experience in customer service.

• Preferred understanding of property insurance concepts and claims handling practices.

• Preferred foundational knowledge of residential and commercial building construction and materials.

• Preferred familiarity with water mitigation principles and inspection methodologies.

• Preferred working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.
