Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of property damage for both residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured individuals.

• Clarify coverage details and assess the extent of damages.

• Assist policyholders throughout the claims process while delivering outstanding service.

• Collaborate effectively with policyholders, insurance agents, and other involved stakeholders.

• Engage with individuals who may express heightened emotions or concerns.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and respond to inquiries and concerns.

• Collect evidence and document findings thoroughly.

• Create comprehensive reports to support claims processing.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with potential exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy stipulations to ascertain claim validity and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Negotiate and settle claims within the designated authorization limits.

• Travel outside the assigned region to provide assistance in other territories as necessary.

• Capable of investigating issues, assessing information, and making well-founded decisions.

• Proficient in interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and applying them accurately.

• Quick to learn new concepts, processes, and terminologies.

• Effective in interacting with policyholders, agents, and various stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills suitable for managing difficult or emotional conversations.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools for documentation and claims support.

• Physically agile, capable of walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, lifting, carrying, unfolding, climbing ladders, and navigating tight spaces.

• Able to use the necessary equipment to traverse roofs at varying heights and pitches.

• May be required to undergo Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred.

• Experience in customer service is preferred.

• Familiarity with property insurance concepts is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of residential and commercial building construction is preferred.

• Understanding of water mitigation principles and inspection processes is preferred.

• Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents is preferred.

• Successful completion of all necessary training, relevant proficiency and licensing exams, Motor Vehicle Record checks, and background checks is required.
