Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and assessments of damages to both residential and commercial properties

• Act as the initial point of contact for insured clients

• Clarify coverage details and estimate the extent of damages

• Assist policyholders throughout the claims process while delivering exceptional service

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other relevant parties

• Collect evidence and information to expedite the claims resolution process

• Manage interactions with individuals expressing strong emotions or concerns

• Provide outstanding customer service and respond to inquiries and concerns

• Record findings and prepare comprehensive reports

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000

• Assess coverage and policy terms to ensure claim validity and compliance with regulations

• Negotiate and settle claims within established authorization limits

• Work remotely and utilize a mobile office/vehicle for field appointments

• Travel outside the assigned region to provide assistance in other territories as needed

• Capability to investigate issues, assess information, and make well-informed decisions

• Skill in interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and applying them accurately

• Quick adaptability to learn new concepts, processes, and terminology

• Ability to effectively communicate with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for handling challenging or emotional conversations

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented abilities

• Proficiency in using mobile and desktop tools for documenting and supporting claims

• Physical capacity to walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, stoop, lift, carry, unfold, climb ladders, navigate roofs, and crawl in confined spaces

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training

• Valid driver's license is mandatory

• Successful completion of required training, proficiency and licensing exams, MVR checks, and background checks

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or a similar discipline is preferred

• Customer service experience is preferred

• Familiarity with property insurance concepts and general claims handling practices is preferred

• Basic knowledge of residential and commercial building construction and materials is preferred

• Knowledge of water mitigation principles and inspection processes is preferred

• Working familiarity with Xactimate and XactContents is preferred

• Willingness to work flexible schedules, overtime, and irregular hours is essential
