Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damages for both residential and commercial properties.

• Act as the initial point of contact for insured individuals.

• Clarify coverage details, assess damages, and assist policyholders throughout the claims process.

• Work collaboratively with policyholders, insurance agents, and other relevant parties.

• Collect evidence, document observations, and compile comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and assess personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy stipulations to determine claim validity and compliance with regulations.

• Negotiate and resolve claims within established authority limits.

• Deliver outstanding customer service while addressing questions and concerns.

• Occasionally engage with individuals expressing strong emotions or concerns.

• Travel outside assigned areas as necessary to support other regions.

• Complete virtual work from home when required.

• Capability to investigate issues, analyze information, and make well-informed decisions.

• Ability to interpret intricate policies, guidelines, or technical data and apply them correctly.

• Quick adaptability to learn new concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Proficient in interacting effectively with policyholders, agents, and stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing difficult or emotional discussions.

• Detail-oriented with robust organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in utilizing mobile and desktop tools to document and manage claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physical capability for walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, stooping, lifting, carrying, unfolding, climbing ladders, navigating roofs, and crawling in confined spaces.

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• A valid driver’s license is mandatory, as driving is a fundamental job function.

• Successful completion of necessary training, proficiency assessments, licensing exams, MVR checks, and background investigations is required.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or a similar discipline is preferred.

• Experience in customer service is preferred.

• Familiarity with property insurance principles, coverage basics, and claims management practices is preferred.

• Basic understanding of residential and commercial building construction and materials is preferred.

• Knowledge of water mitigation principles and inspection methods is preferred.

• Proficient in Xactimate and XactContents is preferred.

• Willingness to work flexible schedules, overtime, and irregular hours is essential.
