Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damages to both residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured clients.

• Clarify coverage details, assess damages, and assist policyholders throughout the claims process.

• Work collaboratively with policyholders, insurance agents, and other relevant parties.

• Maintain professionalism when engaging with individuals expressing intense emotions or concerns.

• Deliver outstanding customer service and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.

• Collect evidence, document observations, and create comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures reaching $500,000.

• Analyze coverage and policy terms to ensure claim validity and compliance with regulations.

• Negotiate and resolve claims within established authority limits.

• Operate from home while utilizing a mobile office or vehicle for in-person meetings.

• Travel outside the designated area to support other territories as necessary.

• Competence in investigating issues, assessing information, and making well-informed decisions.

• Capability to interpret detailed policies, guidelines, or technical data and apply them accurately.

• Quick adaptability to learn new concepts, procedures, and terminology.

• Proficient in engaging effectively with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing challenging or emotional discussions.

• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools for documenting and supporting claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physical capability to walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, lift, carry, unfold, climb ladders, traverse roofs, and crawl in tight spaces.

• Completion of Rope and Harness Safety Training may be required.

• A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

• Successful completion of mandatory training, relevant proficiency and licensing exams, MVR checks, and background checks.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or a similar discipline is preferred.

• Previous customer service experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with property insurance concepts is preferred.

• Basic understanding of residential and commercial building construction and components/materials is preferred.

• Knowledge of water mitigation principles and inspection processes is preferred.

• Working familiarity with Xactimate and XactContents is preferred.

• Willingness and ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and irregular hours.
