Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site inspections and evaluations of damages to residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured clients.

• Clarify coverage details and assess damage estimates.

• Assist policyholders throughout the claims process while delivering exceptional service.

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other relevant parties.

• Collect information and resolve claims effectively.

• Engage with individuals who may express intense emotions or concerns.

• Provide ongoing customer service during the claims process.

• Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

• Gather evidence and document findings accurately.

• Create comprehensive reports that support claims handling.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to determine claim validity and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.

• Occasionally travel outside the designated area to assist in other territories.

• Work from home and utilize a mobile office/vehicle for in-person meetings.

• Ability to interpret detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and apply them accurately.

• Quick learner of unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Proficient in effectively interacting with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for handling challenging or emotional discussions.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools to document and support claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physical agility to perform tasks such as walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, lifting, carrying, unfolding, and climbing ladders.

• Ability to traverse roofs of various heights and pitches while utilizing appropriate safety equipment.

• Capability to crawl into tight spaces.

• May be required to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

• Successful completion of necessary training, relevant proficiency and licensing exams, MVR checks, and background investigations.

• Preferred bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Preferred experience in customer service.

• Preferred understanding of property insurance concepts and claims handling practices.

• Preferred knowledge of residential and commercial building construction and materials.

• Preferred familiarity with water mitigation principles and inspection processes.

• Preferred working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.

• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime and irregular hours.
