Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Conduct on-site inspections and evaluations of property damage for both residential and commercial claims.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for insured individuals.

• Clarify coverage details and assess damages.

• Assist policyholders throughout the claims process while delivering exceptional service.

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other relevant parties to gather necessary information and resolve claims efficiently.

• Engage with individuals who may express intense emotions or concerns regarding inspections or claim resolutions.

• Provide customer support and address any inquiries or concerns.

• Collect evidence, document findings, and compile comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims involving exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to ensure claim validity and regulatory compliance.

• Negotiate and settle claims within the authorized limits and according to company policies.

• Operate primarily in the Denver Metro area and occasionally assist in other regions.

• Adapt to flexible schedules, which may include overtime or irregular hours.

• Competence in investigating issues, evaluating information, and making well-supported decisions.

• Ability to interpret detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and apply them accurately.

• Quick learning of unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Effective interaction skills with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing challenging or emotional discussions.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools to document and support claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physical capability to walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, lift, carry, unfold, climb ladders, traverse roofs at various heights and pitches, and crawl in confined spaces.

• May be required to undergo Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• A valid driver's license is mandatory.

• Successful completion of required training, proficiency and licensing exams, MVR checks, and background checks is necessary.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Preferred: Experience in customer service.

• Preferred: Understanding of property insurance concepts and general claims handling practices.

• Preferred: Basic knowledge of residential and commercial building construction and materials.

• Preferred: Familiarity with water mitigation principles and inspection processes.

• Preferred: Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.
