Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damage to residential and commercial properties.

• Act as the initial point of contact for insured clients.

• Clarify coverage details and assess damage estimates.

• Guide policyholders through the claims process while delivering excellent service.

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance representatives, and other relevant parties.

• Collect information and resolve claims efficiently.

• Engage with individuals who may display strong emotions or concerns.

• Deliver outstanding customer service and respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.

• Collect evidence, document findings, and create comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust claims for personal and commercial properties with exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy terms to determine claim validity and compliance with regulations.

• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.

• Operate from home and utilize a mobile office/vehicle for in-person meetings.

• Occasionally travel beyond the designated area to assist other regions.

• Demonstrated ability to investigate issues, assess information, and make well-founded decisions.

• Capacity to interpret detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and apply them accurately.

• Quick to learn new concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Proficient in effectively communicating with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing difficult or emotional discussions.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in using mobile and desktop tools for documenting and supporting claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physical capability to walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, stoop, lift, carry, unfold, climb ladders, traverse roofs, and navigate tight spaces.

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• Valid driver's license is necessary.

• Successful completion of required training, proficiency, licensing exams, MVR checks, and background checks.

• Preferred bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or similar.

• Preferred experience in customer service.

• Preferred understanding of property insurance concepts and claims handling practices.

• Preferred knowledge of residential and commercial building construction and materials.

• Preferred familiarity with water mitigation principles and inspection processes.

• Preferred working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.

• Willingness to work flexible schedules, overtime, and irregular hours.
