Claim Specialist – Property Field Inspection

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations and inspections of damage to residential and commercial properties.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for policyholders.

• Clarify coverage details, assess damages, and assist policyholders throughout the claims process.

• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other stakeholders involved.

• Collect evidence, document observations, and compile comprehensive reports.

• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.

• Assess coverage and policy conditions to ensure claim validity and compliance with regulations.

• Negotiate and resolve claims within authorized limits.

• Deliver outstanding customer service and respond to inquiries and concerns.

• Manage the designated Riverside County territory and occasionally support other regions.

• Work remotely for virtual tasks and utilize a mobile office/vehicle for field appointments.

• Complete necessary training, assessments, licensing examinations, MVR checks, and background screenings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience as a property field inspection claim specialist or comparable claims experience.

• Capability to investigate issues, evaluate information, and make well-founded decisions.

• Proficiency in interpreting detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information accurately.

• Quick learner of new concepts, processes, and terminology.

• Effective interaction skills with policyholders, agents, and other involved parties.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly for challenging or emotional discussions.

• Attention to detail, along with robust organizational and analytical abilities.

• Competence in using mobile/desktop tools for documenting and supporting claims both in the field and remotely.

• Physical capability for walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, navigating roofs, and maneuvering in restricted spaces.

• May need to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• Must complete all required training, proficiency evaluations, licensing exams, MVR checks, and background checks successfully.

• Must reside within one of the specified zip codes in the Riverside County territory.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Insurance, Business, Construction Management, or similar discipline is preferred.

• Previous customer service experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with property insurance concepts and general claims handling practices is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of residential and commercial building construction, components, and materials is preferred.

• Knowledge of water mitigation principles and inspection processes is preferred.

• Familiarity with Xactimate and XactContents is preferred.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and irregular schedules.
