This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define and take ownership of Eon's comprehensive security strategy, roadmap, and budget.
• Update the CEO, executive team, and board regarding security posture, risks, and investment priorities.
• Build and lead the security department, which includes hiring, structuring, and developing the team.
• Develop security policies, standards, and a framework for risk management.
• Manage compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, and FedRAMP, including overseeing audits and ensuring continuous preparedness.
• Create a formal enterprise risk management program that encompasses third-party and vendor risks.
• Update policies and controls as regulatory and customer compliance requirements change.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to integrate secure-by-design principles into architecture and the software development lifecycle.
• Oversee detection, response, and vulnerability management.
• Lead incident response efforts and crisis management activities.
• Assess and deploy security tools for a cloud-native, multi-environment platform.
• Provide guidance to enterprise customers and prospects on security matters, assisting with security reviews, RFPs, and due diligence.
• Collaborate with Sales and Solutions Engineering to expedite strategic deals.
• Represent Eon's security initiatives externally, engaging with customers, at industry events, and within the broader security community.
• Over 10 years of experience in cybersecurity.
• More than 5 years in senior security leadership roles (CISO, VP Security, or Head of Security) within an enterprise SaaS or cloud organization.
• Proven experience in building and expanding a security program from the ground up.
• Extensive, hands-on expertise in cloud, SaaS, infrastructure security, and data protection.
• Direct responsibility for SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, and FedRAMP programs, including managing audits and certifications.
• Exceptional executive-level communication abilities, including the capability to present to boards, executives, and enterprise clients.
• Experience in recruiting, managing, and developing a security team.
• The judgment and speed necessary to operate as a true owner in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.
• Experience with regulated environments and public sector security programs (FedRAMP, StateRAMP) is desirable.
• A background in cloud infrastructure, data protection, or backup and recovery products is advantageous.
• CISSP, CISM, or CCSP certifications are considered a plus.
• Experience in scaling a security function during periods of hypergrowth is a plus.
