This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Create and develop scalable pipelines, tools, and systems for cinematic and narrative content.
• Construct and execute cinematic content utilizing Level Sequences, Animation Montages, Animation Blueprints, and Blueprint scripting.
• Set up workflows that enhance gameplay and cinematic storytelling.
• Directly implement character animation in Unreal Engine, encompassing runtime animation control and integration.
• Leverage visual scripting and animation systems to enhance character performance, emotional depth, timing, and storytelling effectiveness.
• Diagnose and resolve animation and cinematic issues directly within the engine.
• Collaborate with animation, narrative design, audio, lighting, and other creative teams.
• Balance technical requirements with storytelling, pacing, and presentation objectives.
• Optimize cinematic systems for performance, reliability, and scalability while facilitating creative iterations.
• Minimum of 2 years of game development experience with recent hands-on implementation expertise.
• Proficient in Unreal Engine 4, especially with Blueprints, visual scripting, animation systems, and cinematic workflows.
• A multidisciplinary background in Technical Art/Technical Animation with substantial animation experience, or Design with a strong foundation in art/animation.
• Practical experience in implementing animation in-engine, including Animation Blueprints, Montages, Level Sequences, and character animation integration.
• Solid comprehension of narrative timing, pacing, and cinematic storytelling.
• Strong investigative, debugging, and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to independently diagnose issues.
• Experience contributing to at least one released game, preferably one acclaimed for its narrative or mission design.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work across various disciplines.
• A genuine passion for narrative-driven first-person shooters.
• Preferred qualifications: experience in developing cinematic or narrative pipelines and tools; runtime character control and complex animation systems; optimizing cinematic systems for performance and long-term scalability; understanding the interplay of animation, audio, lighting, and narrative systems.
