Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist – Clinical Case Reviewer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary clinical reviewer and validate assigned cases in line with the ECR process.

• Assess evaluations and any relevant medical and clinical documentation available.

• Take into account information presented by the member or their healthcare decision-maker.

• Seek discipline-specific consultation when clinically warranted.

• Create and document clear clinical recommendations along with supporting rationales using the Division’s ECR process and specified templates.

• Analyze complex pediatric and adolescent cases, taking into consideration developmental, medical, behavioral, and functional needs.

• Complete the assigned case reviews within the mandatory 48-hour turnaround period from the time of case assignment.

• Ensure precise, comprehensive, and prompt clinical documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO).

• Relevant, current medical licensure and credentials for the jurisdiction where services are rendered.

• Background in pediatrics, child and adolescent psychiatry, or a related clinical specialty.

• Understanding of pediatric and adolescent development, as well as the requirements of children and teenagers aged 0–18.

• Strong skills in clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making.

• Capability to integrate information from various sources and accurately document clinical reasoning.

• Exceptional written communication skills and the ability to adhere to strict review timelines.

• Preferred: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

• Preferred: Knowledge of complex medical, behavioral, or psychiatric requirements.

• Preferred: Experience in conducting interdisciplinary clinical reviews.

• Preferred: Experience in reviewing clinical assessments, medical records, and accompanying documentation.

• Preferred: Familiarity with utilization review, medical necessity review, or analogous clinical review processes.
