This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
β’ Oversee the engineering leadership rhythm, which includes coordinating director-level meetings, setting agendas, recording decisions, and ensuring follow-through.
β’ Take charge of the quarterly OKR and QBR processes, encompassing objective updates, follow-ups, issue escalations, and preparation for reviews.
β’ Keep an up-to-date record of leadership decisions and commitments, tracking them until completion.
β’ Identify any stalled or unassigned cross-team initiatives and restore clear ownership.
β’ Manage special projects until they are fully chartered, after which they will be handed to permanent owners.
β’ Coordinate organizational structures, data team setup, vendor selection, procurement, security consulting, AI-agent platform initiatives, technical audits, platform assessments, and tool pilots.
β’ Transform complicated organizational and project information into concise, decision-ready presentations for the CTO, executive team, and board.
β’ Facilitate the closure of delegated decisions through effective documentation, escalation, and communication.
β’ Standardize planning, tracking, and communication for engineering leadership through rituals, templates, and operational rhythms.
β’ Collaborate across the organization on initiatives that cut across teams, procurement, pilot contracts, and budgeting for engineering tools.
β’ Actively incorporate AI into daily tasks while identifying opportunities for AI to innovate functional challenges.
β’ Establish the operational rhythm, map unassigned initiatives, take ownership of the OKR/QBR cycles, and set performance baselines within the initial 90 days.
β’ Proven experience in managing the operational framework of an engineering organization, likely as a TPM lead, head of engineering operations, or equivalent role.
β’ Experience in owning the cadence, planning, and cross-team coordination at an organizational scale.
β’ Demonstrated capability in managing ambiguous, multi-team initiatives through influence, without direct authority.
β’ A successful history of transforming raw, complex information into concise, executive-level material.
β’ Ability to develop sustainable systems and follow-up processes.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, engineering managers, and directors, gaining their trust through dependability and follow-through.
β’ Adequate technical fluency to engage in technical discussions and coordinate without being the technical authority or making architectural decisions.
β’ Proficiency in English (C1+) and Russian for both internal and external technical communications.
β’ Willingness to actively engage with AI in daily tasks and enhance AI proficiency.
β’ Previous experience as a Chief of Staff, Engineering Operations, or TPM lead reporting to engineering leadership is a plus.
β’ Experience in enhancing operational efficiency in engineering organizations with over 100 employees, focusing on automation and AI tools is a plus.
β’ Background in procurement, vendor contracting, or budgeting is a plus.
β’ Familiarity with nonprofit technology or the payments sector is a plus.
β’ Knowledge of Node.js/NestJS, React, MongoDB, ClickHouse, Kafka, Cloudflare, PCI DSS 4.0.1, SOC 2 Type II, or ISO 27001 is a plus.
