Chief Information Security Officer – CISO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Define the strategic framework for enterprise cybersecurity and implement a proactive security strategy that aligns with the organization's priorities, technologies, and business goals.

• Foster a security-focused culture throughout technology and business teams.

• Direct enterprise security architecture to safeguard critical systems, sensitive data, cloud environments, digital offerings, and third-party networks.

• Advocate for AI-enhanced security innovation through automation, advanced analytics, and cutting-edge technologies.

• Implement responsible governance for AI and autonomous systems.

• Supervise threat intelligence, vulnerability management, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts.

• Counsel executive leadership by converting cybersecurity risks into actionable insights, investment priorities, and strategic business decisions.

• Cultivate and motivate a high-performing security team while strengthening cross-departmental collaborations.

• Establish metrics that illustrate risk reduction, organizational resilience, customer and partner confidence, and overall business value.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive progressive leadership experience in cybersecurity, information security, or technology risk, including oversight of enterprise-wide security strategy and execution in complex organizations.

• Proven success in building, transforming, or scaling cybersecurity initiatives while aligning security priorities with business goals and organizational growth.

• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity architecture, cloud security, identity and access management, threat management, incident response, data protection, and security governance.

• Strong comprehension of cloud-native architectures, DevSecOps, zero-trust principles, AI security, and emerging cyber threats.

• Executive presence and business insight, with the capability to influence senior leaders, articulate complex risks clearly, and make informed decisions during uncertain situations.

• Entrepreneurial mindset demonstrated by challenging conventional thinking, identifying opportunities, and crafting innovative, practical solutions.

• Established ability to attract, develop, and lead outstanding teams while fostering an environment of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Principled and intellectually curious leadership style rooted in sound judgment, humility, integrity, and a commitment to creating value for others.
