This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Lead and expand River's team of compliance analysts.
• Act as River's BSA Officer, overseeing BSA/AML and OFAC programs, which includes policy management, monitoring, investigations, and reporting.
• Develop and sustain compliance policies and procedures throughout the organization.
• Implement a comprehensive compliance training program for the entire company.
• Take charge of the compliance risk assessment and facilitate cross-functional remediation prioritization.
• Create and execute independent compliance testing and monitoring initiatives.
• Manage state money transmitter licenses, ensuring renewals and readiness for examinations.
• Lead the OCC national trust charter process in collaboration with executive leadership, legal counsel, and consultants.
• Foster relationships with regulators and compliance leadership from banking partners.
• Oversee regulatory examinations, audits, and third-party assessments, ensuring proper remediation.
• Provide compliance approval for new products and features.
• Develop scalable compliance systems and processes.
• Advise the executive team and Board on regulatory strategies and emerging risks.
• Collaborate with Operations, Product, and Engineering to integrate compliance effectively.
• Embody River's values of trust, honesty, and rigorous culture.
• Extensive experience in establishing and managing compliance programs at a regulated financial institution, preferably with BSA Officer experience.
• Proven history of managing regulatory examinations and audits, along with building relationships with regulators and banking partners.
• Direct involvement with OCC processes; experience with charter applications is highly advantageous.
• A systems-thinking mindset and a focus on process development.
• Strong leadership skills and experience in building, managing, and mentoring a team of analysts.
• Exceptional communication abilities with examiners, Board members, and engineers.
• Strategic and proactive approach to managing regulatory risk.
