Certified Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Extract vital clinical documentation from patient records to accurately assign complex ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes, ensuring optimal APC and DRG classifications.

• Review clinical charts and proactively engage physicians to clarify any documentation uncertainties.

• Guarantee data integrity while adhering strictly to official coding guidelines.

• Achieve and surpass departmental productivity and quality standards.

• Comply with AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding.

• Keep current with changes in reimbursement reporting requirements.

• Deliver specialized coding education to physicians and associates.

⛳️ Requirements

• One or more of the following credentials must be obtained prior to the hire date or job transfer date: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from AHIMA; Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC; Coder; Registered Health Information Administrator credentialed by AHIMA; Registered Health Information Technician credentialed by AHIMA.

• High School diploma equivalency or at least 1 year of relevant cumulative job-specific experience is required.

• Applicable professional licensure or certification may substitute for education or experience when appropriate.

• Previous coding experience is preferred.

• Must be comfortable coding across various specialties.
