This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver athletic training services to designated schools, educational systems, sports clubs, organizations, community sporting events, and various community activities.
• Oversee athletic injuries with guidance from the Medical Director of Sports Medicine and/or appointed Team Physicians.
• Manage cases and assist injured athletes/patients in obtaining referrals to higher levels of care.
• Keep records of athlete demographics and insurance information up-to-date.
• Arrange physician appointments and attend them when possible and allowed.
• Inform athletes, parents, coaches, and other relevant parties about diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment alternatives.
• Contact athletes post-surgery and act as the main point of contact for any post-operative inquiries.
• Communicate with stakeholders about injury statuses and decisions regarding return-to-play.
• Promote Optim physicians, services, and facilities within the community.
• Act as the Optim relationship manager for school staff, parents, students, and community stakeholders.
• Support school nursing with athletic injuries and implement wellness programs for faculty and staff.
• Provide healthcare education and organize CPR/first aid certification for faculty and staff.
• Collaborate with local primary care providers on non-orthopedic injuries, sports physicals, and referrals.
• Offer injury prevention education and consultations to recreational sports organizations.
• Build connections with civic clubs and local media outlets.
• Create and implement community education initiatives focused on injury prevention.
• Participate in community events sponsored by Optim.
• Compile weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
• Attend necessary departmental meetings and carry out other assigned responsibilities.
• Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential/qualification is required.
• Services must be provided in compliance with the Georgia State Athletic Training Practice Act.
• Practice must align with the standards set by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
• Willingness to travel as necessary to assigned schools, educational systems, sports clubs, organizations, community sporting events, and other community activities.
• Capability to manage athletic injuries under the supervision of designated team physicians.
• Ability to navigate and manage cases for injured athletes or patients requiring referrals to higher levels of care.
• Proficiency in maintaining athlete demographic and insurance records.
• Skill in facilitating physician appointments and effectively communicating diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment options.
• Competence in fulfilling weekly, monthly, and annual reporting obligations.
• Readiness to attend required departmental meetings.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
