CDI Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct timely evaluations of patient medical records to ensure thorough and precise documentation that reflects the severity and complexity of the patient's condition.

• Collaborate with providers and coders to ensure that chart documentation accurately represents patient complexity.

• Provide education and engage with healthcare providers.

• Examine assigned medical records for comprehensive and precise documentation of pertinent diagnoses and procedures.

• Initiate and finalize queries as needed to accurately represent inpatient or outpatient visit data.

• Comply with ACDIS, AAPC, and AHIMA guidelines.

• Uphold strict confidentiality of patient information in line with HIPAA regulations.

• Utilize knowledge of DRG payer issues, audit risks, documentation opportunities, quality metrics, and hierarchical condition categories.

• Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and management to fulfill assignment requirements.

• Employ computer software in accordance with client specifications.

• Travel to field locations may be required up to 15% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in clinical documentation.

• A current RN license is required.

• Strong analytical abilities for clinically assessing medical records.

• Capability to use a PC for reviewing medical records.

• Proficient in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Effective communication skills with e4health management and clients.

• Experience with Maryland APR-DRG is preferred.

• CCDS or CDIP certification is preferred.

• A BSN, in addition to an RN license, is preferred.

• Candidates for U.S.-based positions must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
