This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Develop and sustain intricate financial models, encompassing project finance models, DCF analysis, and valuation assessments.
• Analyze investment prospects through valuation modeling, scenario analysis, and portfolio risk and opportunity evaluations.
• Prepare quarterly valuations for a portfolio exceeding 200 projects, including operating and development assets, for presentations to the Executive Team.
• Create process-driven models and marketing materials to support debt and tax equity origination initiatives.
• Assess financing structures and term sheets while aiding in term negotiations.
• Generate scenario-based memos and presentations for Board meetings.
• Evaluate strategic opportunities, asset divestitures, and financial restructurings within operating portfolios.
• Monitor changes in state and federal policies and laws, detailing their impacts on asset economics.
• Assist in the structuring and negotiation of tax equity, construction debt, and term debt facilities.
• Collaborate with lenders, investors, and other financial stakeholders to secure project financing.
• Support financing closings by preparing data rooms and managing due diligence.
• Facilitate ongoing funding activities for construction, term, and tax equity across various stages of project development.
• Review estimates and budgets related to project development costs.
• Monitor project spending in relation to budgetary limits.
• Work in partnership with engineering, finance, and legal teams.
• Provide updates on project status to both internal and external stakeholders.
• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, corporate finance, or a similar field.
• Experience within the renewable energy sector is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, analysis, and valuation of infrastructure or energy projects.
• Proficient with financial modeling software (e.g., Excel) and financial analysis tools.
• Strong grasp of project finance principles, including debt, equity, and tax equity structures.
• Familiarity with renewable energy financing mechanisms, such as power purchase agreements (PPAs) and tax credits.
• Experience using AI tools to enhance financial modeling and analysis.
• Excellent analytical abilities, with a knack for interpreting complex financial data and providing actionable insights.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and the capacity to think strategically and critically.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling the establishment and maintenance of relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
