Business Intelligence Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the transformation of the data warehouse and reporting systems for a financial institution client.

• Sustain and provide support for the current SQL Server-based data warehouse and reporting framework.

• Design, construct, and transition data models, ETL pipelines, and reports to Snowflake and Sigma.

• Act as the principal technical architect responsible for transitioning from SQL Server/SSIS/SSRS to Snowflake and Sigma.

• Create target-state data models for Snowflake.

• Re-engineer SSIS ETL workflows into Snowflake-native ingestion and transformation pipelines.

• Recreate SSRS reports and dashboards as Sigma workbooks and reports, ensuring accuracy and parity.

• Document source-to-target mappings for data integration and report outputs.

• Plan and coordinate migration phases, cutovers, and validation of parallel runs.

• Develop and document ETL data workflows utilizing SSIS, PowerShell, PowerPoint, Visio, and T-SQL.

• Create and oversee SSRS reports, dashboards, and agents.

• Communicate migration risks, system challenges, and updates to team members and client stakeholders.

• Provide support for off-hours upgrades and migration tasks as needed.

• Engage in peer reviews, requirements collection, troubleshooting, and project assistance.

• Identify data discrepancies, anomalies, and scripting challenges; implement performance enhancement recommendations.

• Monitor, report, and resolve end-user concerns.

• Complete annual compliance training and adhere to bank, federal, and state regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-8 years of pertinent experience for this position.

• 3-5 years of relevant experience within a traditional financial institution (bank or credit union).

• Exceptional attention to detail, data precision, and quality of deliverables.

• Proficient in statistics, finance, and concepts related to retail and commercial banking.

• Ability to remain updated on analytics and data platform trends, including modern cloud data warehousing and BI tools.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Capable of producing project documentation, including source-to-target mapping and migration strategies.

• Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple project timelines.

• Proficient in the Microsoft Development and Office Suite.

• Skilled in application development, database and system/application architecture, as well as legacy/web-based systems and interfaces.

• Experience with legacy platforms: SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.

• Familiar with target platforms: Snowflake, Sigma.

• Experience with Visio and Lucid.

• Knowledge of data modeling tools: Sparx, Oxygen, Altova, Erwin, SQL Developer, SQL Data Modeler.

• Familiarity with reporting and integration frameworks: Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, SSIS.

• Experience in Visual Studio VB and/or C# software development for Web, WinForm, Services, API, and WebAPI.
