• Analyze intricate datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for business enhancement.
• Conduct comprehensive analyses of business performance metrics and delve into the root causes of KPI fluctuations and operational discrepancies.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive analytics while recommending proactive measures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to grasp analytical needs and convert them into data specifications for data engineering.
• Construct data-driven business cases and ROI analyses.
• Design and create interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Develop governed self-service analytics solutions.
• Create executive-level scorecards.
• Employ advanced visualization techniques for non-technical audiences.
• Establish best practices and standards for enterprise visualization.
• Act as an analytics consultant for designated business units.
• Facilitate discovery sessions to uncover fundamental business questions.
• Convert business requirements into technical specifications for data engineers.
• Present findings and suggestions to leadership using storytelling methodologies.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with business executives.
• Set data quality metrics and monitoring processes in collaboration with data engineers.
• Identify and rectify data quality issues.
• Document business rules and data definitions.
• Contribute to data governance initiatives.
• Validate data pipeline outputs prior to production deployment.
• Explore statistical analysis, forecasting, and basic machine learning applications.
• Collaborate on proof-of-concept projects for new analytical capabilities.
• Research best practices in BI and emerging trends.
• Mentor business users on data literacy and self-service analytics.
• Contribute to the analytics strategy and roadmap.
• Work alongside junior, data, and senior data engineers on requirements, data models, ETL/ELT validation, and solution architecture.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related analytical roles.
• Proven ability to convert complex data insights into clear business recommendations.
• Strong expertise in SQL and data visualization tools, especially Power BI.
• Experience with data warehouse/lakehouse environments and familiarity with data modeling concepts.
• Demonstrated success in forging stakeholder relationships and influencing business decisions through data.
• Exceptional presentation and storytelling abilities, capable of communicating with both technical and executive audiences.
• Critical thinking skills with the ability to challenge assumptions and pose insightful questions.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query/Power Pivot.
• Advanced SQL proficiency.
• Knowledge of DAX.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and data lakehouses.
• Understanding of statistical analysis, basic data modeling, KPI development, and dashboard design principles.
• Basic knowledge of Python or R is advantageous.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure Analysis Services, Tableau, Azure DevOps for report deployment, basic machine learning concepts, forecasting techniques, A/B testing, and experience in finance, operations, sales, or supply chain.
