Business Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee the annual budgeting process along with monthly and quarterly forecasting activities, encompassing driver assumptions, scenario modeling, and P&L forecasting.

• Develop and sustain revenue and recurring-revenue models for subscriptions, maintenance, licenses, and services.

• Monitor ARR, retention, churn, bookings, and pipeline conversion metrics.

• Provide analysis of financial performance and variances compared to budget, forecasts, and prior year results.

• Recognize key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.

• Collaborate with commercial and operational leaders regarding pricing, deal structuring, headcount, investment, and profitability decisions.

• Deliver financial models and business cases.

• Create executive reports and dashboards for senior leadership.

• Work in conjunction with Accounting on month-end closures, revenue reviews, accruals, and ensuring management reporting accuracy.

• Utilize Oracle Fusion, SQL, and Excel for data analysis and reconciliation.

• Enhance and automate ongoing planning and reporting processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Over 3 years of experience in Business Controlling, FP&A, or a similar finance role.

• Experience within an international organization, preferably in software, SaaS, or recurring-revenue sectors.

• Familiarity with ARR, retention, churn, and bookings metrics.

• Proficient financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.

• Working knowledge of SQL or demonstrated experience in querying and reconciling large datasets.

• Practical experience with an ERP system, ideally Oracle Fusion.

• Strong understanding of accounting and revenue recognition principles in accordance with US GAAP or IFRS.

• Proficient in written and spoken English is essential.
