Business Analyst – Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Gather, document, and analyze both business and technical requirements from stakeholders.

• Convert business requirements into well-defined, testable user stories, acceptance criteria, and testing plans.

• Design, develop, and implement both automated and manual test cases to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability.

• Create automated testing frameworks and scripts utilizing Selenium, UiPath, Power Platform, Python, or C# based on the technology stack.

• Provide support for the testing of Appian-based applications, including Selenium automation where relevant.

• Collaborate with developers, RPA engineers, and system architects to identify defects, determine root causes, and pinpoint areas for process improvement.

• Record test outcomes, defects, and their resolutions.

• Assist in regression, integration, and user acceptance testing phases.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

• Aid in the development and maintenance of test data, environments, and automation pipelines.

• Relay testing status, risks, and quality metrics to project stakeholders and leadership.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of QA processes, tools, and best practices across various projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience).

• Over 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, QA Analyst, or Automated Tester supporting software or automation initiatives.

• Proven experience in Agile/Scrum development settings.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a sharp focus on detail.

• Proficiency in documenting business requirements, testing plans, and test cases.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional technical teams.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple testing efforts at once.

• Eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance.

• Proven experience in creating and executing automated test cases using tools such as Selenium, UiPath, Power Platform, or custom scripting languages like Python and C#.

• Familiarity with RPA platforms such as UiPath and Power Automate in a production support role.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into deployment workflows.

• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools like JIRA, ALM, and TestRail.
