This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Conduct residential and light commercial building inspections for approved projects.
• Evaluate both structural and non-structural elements, encompassing building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, accessibility, energy, fire protection, and associated systems.
• Assess work for adherence to sanctioned plans, specifications, PA UCC standards, ICC codes, and relevant local regulations.
• Accurately document inspection findings in a timely manner.
• Convey inspection results to contractors, property owners, municipal personnel, and Bureau Veritas colleagues.
• Recognize code-related issues and articulate required corrections in a professional manner.
• Assist in the issuance of permits, inspection approvals, occupancy certificates, and related documentation.
• Maintain thorough inspection records and reports.
• Collaborate with municipal clients, builders, design professionals, and internal staff.
• Provide field support across designated communities in the Kittanning / Western Pennsylvania area.
• Potentially assist with Building Code Official duties for contracted municipalities.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in construction, inspections, contracting, code compliance, building systems, construction supervision, municipal work, or skilled trades.
• Ability to read, or learn to read, construction documents, plans, specifications, permits, and inspection reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to explain technical information clearly and respectfully.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Proficiency in using email, Microsoft Word, Excel, digital forms, or inspection software.
• Capability to work independently in the field while maintaining connections with clients, municipalities, and team members.
• ICC certifications or other related residential/commercial inspection certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with PA UCC, ICC codes, local codes, or municipal inspection processes is beneficial but not required.
• Bilingual communication skills, particularly in Spanish, are a plus but not essential.
