Budget Collector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Follow up on submitted insurance claims to guarantee accurate and timely payments.

• Oversee and manage assigned payer accounts to reduce delinquent balances.

• Investigate denials, underpayments, and outstanding balances to determine suitable resolution strategies.

• Collaborate directly with payers to rectify issues and secure reimbursements.

• Correctly identify billed claims that require adjustments or rebilling.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of payer contracts, reimbursement methods, and coverage requirements.

• Work in conjunction with billing, pharmacy, and operations teams to address claim-related issues.

• Respond swiftly and professionally to both customer and internal inquiries regarding claim status.

• Stay updated on billing regulations, coding standards, and changes in payer policies.

• Utilize clearinghouses and billing systems to enhance collections processes.

• Support data entry, reporting, and various administrative tasks.

• Ensure accuracy, follow-through, and professionalism in interactions with payers.

• Facilitate patient access to care by ensuring prompt reimbursement and continuity of infusion therapy.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.

• At least three (3) years of experience in collection-related activities.

• Experience in providing customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Persistence and confidence in handling payer follow-ups.

• Customer-service orientation balanced with financial accountability.

• Comfort in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Attention to detail and a sense of ownership over outcomes.

• Ability to comprehend payer contracts, reimbursement methods, and coverage criteria.

• Familiarity with billing regulations, coding standards, and updates to payer policies.

• Competence in using clearinghouses and billing systems.

• Ability to prioritize competing demands and effectively manage multiple tasks.

• Participation in mandatory legal and ethical compliance training.

• Adherence to LUX Infusion’s legal, ethical, and compliance policies as well as the Compliance Manual.

• Capability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and lift or move up to 25 pounds.

• Required vision capabilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, along with the ability to adjust focus.
