This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.
• Act as a technical authority assisting customers and internal teams in the application and optimization of company products within the China market.
• Perform hands-on experiments, lab-scale trials, and pilot-scale trials to showcase product functionality.
• Diagnose product performance, stability, compatibility, and technical issues.
• Offer technical guidance on product usage, formulation modifications, and performance enhancement.
• Collaborate with key customers to identify requirements and create customized solutions.
• Develop application guidelines, case studies, best practices, and other technical documentation.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for both customers and internal teams.
• Partner with R&D and Product Development to refine formulations based on market insights.
• Provide application-specific input for new product development tailored to the China market.
• Assist in scaling up new products from laboratory to production.
• Evaluate competitor products and compare their performance against company offerings.
• Identify emerging trends and unmet demands within the China market.
• Ensure that product applications adhere to regional regulations and industry standards.
• Support the preparation of technical dossiers for product registration as required.
• Report directly to the APAC Product Director, Upstream.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to support upstream products and prospective new product launches throughout China.
• Translate global upstream strategy into actionable plans and act as the product owner in global team collaborations.
• Promote the adoption of upstream products in customers’ new molecule workflows and facilitate successful NPI launches.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Life Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Engineering, or related fields.
• Over 3 years of relevant experience in technical support, application development, or similar roles, ideally within biopharmaceutical upstream applications.
• Practical experience with lab/pilot-scale equipment and testing methodologies.
• Understanding of China market dynamics and customer requirements.
• Strong knowledge of mammalian cell culture (CHO, HEK293) or microbial fermentation (E. coli, yeast).
• Familiarity with bioreactor operations from bench-scale to pilot-scale, including fed-batch, perfusion, and high-density cultures.
• Understanding of process optimization, including media development, feeding strategies, and process parameter tuning.
• Background in PAT or DOE is an advantage.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Working knowledge of current business policies and regulations.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Customer-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical, business insight, and forecasting abilities.
• Capability to prioritize tasks and work independently to meet established goals.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within global, cross-functional teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% within China and work flexible hours.
• Up to 30% travel within China for customer visits, trials, and technical support.
