This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Execute desktop evaluations for environmental clearance projects utilizing biological and water resource expertise.
• Conduct desktop-based assessments of environmental constraints to identify suitable avoidance and minimization strategies.
• Complete tasks in accordance with ERM’s management framework, format, and quality benchmarks.
• Work in collaboration with natural resources experts on biological and water resource assessments for construction sites across Southern California.
• Recognize opportunities for process enhancements while adhering to established procedures and guidelines.
• Analyze data using Microsoft Excel.
• Acquire training and achieve proficiency in the client's Work Management Systems independently.
• Adhere to ERM’s safety protocols.
• Carry out desktop constraint assessments using ArcGIS Online.
• Interpret available digital resource layers and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
• Potentially engage in fieldwork, special-status species surveys, and monitoring based on applicable skills.
• BA/BS or Master's degree in a natural science field.
• Minimum of 2 years of field experience in California ecosystems or similar; experience in Southern California is preferred.
• Must be eligible to pass a client background check to gain access to the online system upon employment.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, MS Word, and online data management systems.
• Excellent skills in time management and follow-through.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established Health & Safety protocols.
• High-level written and verbal communication, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• Experience in documenting and writing detailed technical data and reports.
• Capability to multitask, remain adaptable, and work independently with minimal supervision on projects with tight deadlines.
• Ability to work safely outdoors in varying weather conditions and on challenging terrains.
• Practical knowledge of sub-meter accuracy GPS technologies and skills in map interpretation, including NWI, USGS, and aerial photography.
• Strong attention to detail in the documentation of work.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Proven ability to solve problems independently and make effective decisions.
