BIM/VDC Piping Project Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Model specific systems or multiple disciplines.

• Deliver high-quality, cost-effective shop drawings that support fabrication and installation.

• Oversee 3D modeling and coordination for assigned projects.

• Interpret specifications and contract documents to establish project execution plans within BIM budgets.

• Create annotated installation and layout drawings for mechanical and plumbing systems.

• Identify routing efficiencies.

• Communicate execution plans to BIM/VDC team members and outsourcing partners.

• Conduct quality control on project deliverables.

• Lead efforts in clash detection, embedded data, industry coordination, and collaboration.

• Ensure BIM/VDC personnel adhere to departmental protocols.

• Manage models and drawings throughout the project lifecycle, including linked-file updates.

• Troubleshoot daily task-related issues.

• Review subcontractor budgets for project-specific assignments.

• Schedule Trimble layout drawings, shop drawings, BOMs, fabrication drawings, and as-builts.

• Uphold departmental ethics and represent the company in a professional manner.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.

• 4 to 7 years of experience in BIM MEP processes.

• Advanced knowledge of building systems, codes, fabrication, and installation.

• Proficient in Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Fabrication, and Bluebeam.

• Comprehensive understanding of the BIM/VDC process.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of the industry and competitors.

• Capability to multitask and perform duties beyond the defined scope when necessary.

• Preferred: experience leading a small team of 2 or 3 BIM professionals.

• Willingness to travel to job sites/office locations approximately 5% of the time.

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.

• Capable of climbing stairs and remaining stationary, kneeling, standing, or sitting for long durations.

• Able to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions.

• Capable of adjusting or moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
