Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Manage and resolve overdue accounts receivable across various sectors including commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers.

• Conduct follow-ups on unpaid, underpaid, and denied claims to ensure optimal reimbursement.

• Accurately document collection activities and payer communications within the EMR system.

• Process adjustments and coordinate claim corrections or rebilling as necessary.

• Review correspondence from payers and address inquiries from patients or guarantors regarding billing.

• Achieve departmental goals related to productivity, A/R aging, DSO, and cash collections.

• Ensure adherence to payer requirements, SOX controls, and internal policies.

• Must possess authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.

• Experience in healthcare billing or accounts receivable is required.

• Strong understanding of insurance billing procedures and denial resolution.

• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach and a strong sense of urgency.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a remote work setting.

• Maintain a quiet and dedicated workspace that is free from background noise and distractions.

• Capable of participating in virtual meetings while presenting a professional appearance on camera.

• Excellent time-management skills, accountability, and self-motivation.

• Reliable, high-speed internet connection is essential.

• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare billing or accounts receivable.

• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements.

• Experience in managing denials and conducting A/R follow-ups.

• Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications.

• Must be fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
