
Bilingual Patient Access Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +3 more states.
• Assist patients in gaining access to treatments by providing education to both patients and office staff regarding payer access and insurance procedures, including authorization requirements from payers.
• Help patients and office personnel locate closer care sites and options for home dosing.
• Guide office and site-of-care staff to identify team members who assist with coverage and access requirements.
• Inform patients about copay assistance, patient aid programs, and other affordability alternatives.
• Offer non-medical educational support for initiating therapy.
• Organize patient appointments and treatment plans.
• Build trustworthy relationships with patients and caregivers through various communication methods, including phone, text, email, virtual meetings, and in-person interactions.
• Adhere to planned educational and support initiatives to enhance treatment adherence.
• Provide education to large centers, community prescribers, and care sites on product procurement, billing, and coding standards.
• Document case advancements, complete necessary tasks, and carry out case management within the Krystal patient CRM/Workflow system.
• Collaborate with specialty pharmacies, distributors, field sales teams, and internal cross-functional groups.
• Respond swiftly to avoid interruptions in patient treatment.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
• A BS/BA degree is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in patient services, field reimbursement, biopharma sales, or account management is essential.
• At least 1 year of direct experience working with patients and families to provide education and support for access is necessary.
• Bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.
• A scientific background and capacity to comprehend product and disease-related information are needed.
• Experience with orphan or rare diseases while working directly with patients and caregivers is preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and FDA guidelines is essential.
• Willingness to travel between 30%-50% is required.
• Ability to manage challenging patient scenarios and overcome obstacles is necessary.
• Capability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with internal colleagues, specialty pharmacy partners, and field sales personnel is important.
• Must be able to respond promptly, within 24 hours, to prevent any treatment interruptions.
• Prior experience with Patient Journey Navigator (PJN) is preferred.
• Experience in rare diseases, reimbursement, and distribution for buy & bill/medical-benefit products is an asset.
