Bilingual Mental Health Patient Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Coordinate appointments with healthcare providers for patients, referring physicians, and facilities across various states.

• Inform patients and staff about insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and the details of appointment dates and times.

• Deliver warm, friendly, and outstanding customer service to patients, referral sources, and team members.

• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel initial and follow-up appointments in accordance with scheduling protocols and tools.

• Provide precise information regarding services to physicians and incoming callers.

• Respond promptly to inquiries from patients, providers, and team members.

• Maintain and update patient records and stay knowledgeable about insurance protocols.

• Determine insurance benefits using eligibility systems, online resources, and phone calls.

• Explain benefits and financial obligations to patients and their guarantors.

• Address billing inquiries, collect out-of-pocket payments, and process transactions.

• Communicate any insurance-related issues and collaborate with billing teams to resolve coverage discrepancies.

• Maintain insurance panels effectively.

• Secure approval for changes or cancellations to schedules.

• Achieve goals and objectives set by management.

• Escalate issues to management when necessary.

• Perform additional duties based on patient needs.

• Comply with quality and productivity standards.

• Experience in insurance eligibility processes.

• Bilingual in Spanish is required.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

• Capability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

• Availability from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST.
