Bilingual Mental Health Patient Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee all scheduling of appointments with healthcare providers for patients, referring doctors, and facilities throughout various states.

• Relay information regarding insurance coverage, financial obligations, and details of appointments to both patients and staff.

• Accurately schedule, reschedule, and cancel both initial and follow-up appointments.

• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, referral sources, physicians, and team members.

• Address requests from patients, providers, and colleagues promptly.

• Update and maintain patient records and insurance protocols efficiently.

• Confirm insurance benefits through eligibility systems, online resources, and direct phone inquiries.

• Clarify benefits and financial responsibilities to patients and their guarantors.

• Manage billing questions, collect out-of-pocket payments, and handle payment processing.

• Communicate any insurance-related issues and collaborate with billing teams to resolve coverage discrepancies.

• Maintain insurance panels and secure approvals for any scheduling modifications or cancellations.

• Achieve goals and objectives set by management.

• Escalate issues to management and perform additional duties based on patient requirements.

• Background in insurance eligibility is essential.

• Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory.

• Strong attention to detail is required.

• Excellent organizational abilities are needed.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Must work well collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.

• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• Must comply with quality and productivity standards.

• Availability to work Monday–Thursday from 12:00pm to 8:00pm EST and Friday from 11:00am to 7:00pm EST is necessary.
