This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Professionally handle incoming patient calls with a focus on customer service.

• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments for patients.

• Register new patients while updating their demographic and insurance details.

• Verify the eligibility of patient insurance, including benefits, copays, and deductibles.

• Welcome patients and provide outstanding customer service.

• Address patient inquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner.

• Identify situations where medications or services require prior authorization.

• Collect and assess clinical documentation necessary for authorization requests.

• Submit prior authorization requests via insurance portals, phone calls, or fax.

• Track authorization statuses and follow up with insurance companies as needed.

• Inform patients of authorization results and any associated financial obligations.

• Assist with appeals by compiling additional documentation when necessary.

• Review patient information to ensure billing accuracy.

• Aid in the preparation and submission of claims.

• Monitor claim statuses and follow up on denied or delayed payments.

• Accurately post insurance and patient payments.

• Assist with end-of-day reconciliation and billing reports.

• Ensure accurate billing documentation is maintained within the practice management system.

• Keep accurate patient records within the EMR/EHR systems.

• Complete daily activity logs and authorization tracking logs.

• Generate and evaluate end-of-day operational reports.

• Provide support to providers and office staff with general administrative duties.

• Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and all office policies and procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a comparable healthcare administrative position.

• Proficient in insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medical billing.

• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and the healthcare revenue cycle.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.

• Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

• Outstanding organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.
