Bilingual Life Claims Adjudicator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver outstanding service to both customers and non-customers by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and active listening skills.

• Examine claims and underwriting files to ensure accurate disclosure of past medical history, exclusions, riders, and endorsements.

• Manage policy enhancements, premium waivers, and other associated policy benefits.

• Keep detailed records in claim files to accurately document events throughout the claim process.

• Gather file information and assess policy provisions to confirm eligibility.

• Update claim records in the system to guarantee accurate reserve calculations.

• Establish death claim notifications and manage associated responses.

• Oversee the team inbox for urgent requests and assign tasks as needed.

• Provide support to clients from various regions outside of Quebec.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1-2+ years of experience in adjudicating claims is preferred.

• A strong customer service orientation.

• Excellent interpersonal capabilities.

• Proficient oral and written communication skills for interactions with internal and external customers, claimants, brokers, physicians, and colleagues.

• Ability to react constructively and decisively under high-pressure or emotional circumstances.

• Willingness to adapt positively to change.

• Familiarity with government regulations and legal precedents, the Insurance Act, and/or the Quebec Civil Code, as well as underwriting procedures, is a plus.

• Capacity to excel in a dynamic and energetic work environment.

• A mindset focused on continuous improvement.

• Fully bilingual in French and English; required to communicate in both languages to assist clients from various jurisdictions outside Quebec.

• Strong analytical skills are preferable.

• Exceptional time management abilities and capacity to handle high volumes of cases within tight deadlines are preferred.
