BI, Analytics Engineering Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Enhance the analytical models and layers utilized by BI, ensuring that data and business rules are more structured and reusable.

• Convert business concepts and metrics into reliable, documented, and governed definitions.

• Contribute to the advancement of the BI architecture and stack.

• Aid in the development and progression of the Business Layer, Semantic Layer, and metric models.

• Optimize data access, exploration, and usage across teams, thereby expanding self-service capabilities.

• Collaborate with Tech and business teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.

• Assist in defining and evolving BI processes, standards, and best practices.

• Engage hands-on with SQL, data modeling, and analytics.

• Investigate innovative methods of interacting with data, including AI, agents, and emerging technologies applied to Analytics.

• Decrease dependency on one-off solutions while enhancing the reusability, governance, and reliability of information.

• Understand the current challenges faced by data, BI, metrics, and business teams.

• Identify duplicated logic, fragmented metrics, and excessive query dependencies.

• Set standards for data modeling, metrics, and governance.

• Contribute to the ongoing development of the BI stack and architecture.

• Discover opportunities for simplification and reuse.

• Gradually enhance business teams’ autonomy in data consumption.

• Establish yourself as an internal technical reference in BI and Analytics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Analytics Engineering.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL.

• Strong background in data modeling.

• Experience in building or utilizing analytical layers, data marts, or comparable structures.

• Capability to transform business rules into reusable data models.

• Familiarity with Git and code-driven development.

• Strong analytical abilities coupled with a systems-level perspective.

• Comfort in navigating between technical discussions and business challenges.

• Ability to work independently, structure problems, and implement solutions effectively.

• Curiosity and a desire to learn new architectures, tools, and technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.

• Preferred qualifications: experience with Analytics Engineering; knowledge of dbt or similar methodologies; experience with a Semantic Layer or Metrics Layer; familiarity with Looker, Metabase, Cube, or equivalent tools; Python applied to data and Analytics; self-service analytics; metric governance or KPI definition; experience in establishing or evolving a BI or Analytics function; APIs and data integrations; AI applied to data, LLMs, agents, or MCP; experience in startups or high-growth companies.

• Graduate degree or specialization in Data, Analytics, BI, Data Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
