Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the enhancement of data quality, performance, reliability, and automation efforts.

• Oversee a collection of data products that deliver accurate and dependable data.

• Design and sustain robust data pipelines and workflows for data ingestion, processing, and transformation.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the quality and reliability of data pipelines.

• Develop and execute data quality checks, perform QA, and establish monitoring routines.

• Create and manage data integrations across both internal and external systems.

• Develop and maintain internal tools and applications that facilitate data analysis and reporting.

• Promote the usage of tools and applications with an emphasis on automation, consistency, and reliability.

• Provide guidance to data scientists, engineering managers, and leadership regarding data foundations.

• Communicate and influence Reddit’s data foundations roadmap and strategic direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related quantitative field.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working with large-scale ETL systems in a production setting.

• Proven experience in implementing, strategizing, and maintaining large-scale ETL systems.

• Experience in writing clean, maintainable code and systems; proficiency in Python is preferred.

• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, Spark, Scala, and other relevant languages.

• Experience with data modeling, ETL and ELT concepts, and effective data governance practices.

• Ability to manipulate large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

• Familiarity with data workflows such as Airflow.

• Experience in either front-end or back-end engineering.

• Skills in data analysis and dashboard design.

• In-depth understanding of technical and functional designs for relational and MPP databases.

• Demonstrated success in cross-functional execution and collaboration.

• Experience with agentic AI-assisted development.

• Excellent communication abilities for engaging with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.

• Capability to work independently and autonomously, as well as collaboratively within a team.
