Behavioral Health Clinician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough biopsychosocial evaluations and determine DSM-5-TR diagnoses.

• Create tailored treatment plans addressing a variety of mental health and substance use issues.

• Deliver individual and group psychotherapy employing evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and problem-solving therapy.

• Oversee patient safety through risk assessments, crisis intervention, and coordination of higher levels of care.

• Collaborate with psychiatry, primary care, and interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, whole-person care.

• Engage in clinical quality initiatives, case consultations, peer reviews, and outcome assessments.

• Mentor Behavioral Health Consultants and junior clinical personnel.

• Ensure timely and precise EHR documentation in line with licensing and regulatory requirements.

• Work alongside psychiatric consultants and primary care providers to manage patient panels and relay recommendations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related discipline.

• Current, unrestricted California license (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent).

• Willingness to obtain licensure in additional states.

• Over 3 years of post-licensure experience providing psychotherapy to diverse populations.

• Advanced training or expertise in at least one evidence-based approach (CBT, DBT, ACT, MI, PST, trauma-focused therapy, etc.).

• Experience handling high-acuity situations, including crisis intervention and safety planning.

• Strong skills in EHR documentation and knowledge of regulatory and payor standards.

• Ability to work autonomously across various care settings with minimal oversight.

• Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and comfort in managing complex cases.
