This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the main point of contact for client support inquiries related to Empyrean's Profitability and Budgeting & Planning solutions, managing the process from initial triage through to resolution.
• Diagnose configuration, data, reporting, and calculation problems within existing profitability and planning models.
• Engage with dimensions, hierarchies, allocation logic, driver-based assumptions, and forecasting methodologies.
• Assist clients in interpreting profitability reports across various views, including customer, instrument, product, and organizational perspectives.
• Guide clients through the processes of budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting to identify root causes of issues.
• Keep thorough documentation of support cases and enhance the internal knowledge base.
• Refer complex configuration or product challenges to implementation consultants or product management, ensuring follow-through to resolution.
• Provide clients with advice on best practices for data management, reporting, FP&A, and profitability assessment.
• Act as a liaison between client users and Empyrean's product management team, translating client requirements into product development priorities.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools and repeatable processes to efficiently resolve support issues and enhance those processes.
• Protect sensitive customer data by adhering to relevant policies, controls, and approved data transmission methods.
• Undertake additional duties and assignments as required and directed.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Background in banking, financial services, FP&A, or financial technology.
• Strong understanding of the banking sector, accounting principles, and financial statements.
• Proficient in Excel with experience handling large datasets.
• Excellent attention to detail along with strong planning and organizational abilities.
• Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Comfortable adhering to and enhancing structured processes, particularly under the demands of an active support queue.
• Proven AI literacy in a professional context, demonstrating sound judgment regarding AI applications and an understanding of data handling and confidentiality issues.
• Familiarity with bank profitability concepts, including Funds Transfer Pricing, cost allocation, and profitability measurement.
• Knowledge of bank financial planning concepts, including net interest margin forecasting, non-interest income and expense modeling, and capital and payroll planning.
• Understanding of a bank's balance sheet and loan payment calculations.
• Acquainted with fixed-income cash flow calculations and fixed income mathematics.
• Knowledgeable about risk-based/regulatory capital attribution and allowance (ACL/ALLL) calculations.
• Experience in supporting or implementing planning or profitability solutions at financial institutions.
• Background in financial data management, ETL tools, and Microsoft Power Query.
• Proficient in SQL or other data analysis tools.
• Previous experience in customer support, consulting, implementation, or customer success roles.
• Experience in creating or enhancing repeatable, AI-assisted workflows.
