This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist Peraton in managing the national Background Investigations program for federal agencies and departments.
• Complete a comprehensive full-time training program lasting 6–7 weeks, both virtually and in person, to achieve certification in Federal Investigative Standards.
• Engage in daily travel for on-site background investigations to evaluate the employment suitability of individuals needing access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information.
• Arrange and conduct face-to-face interviews with subjects, their neighbors, employers, friends, and family members.
• Execute record searches at police departments, courthouses, educational institutions, financial organizations, and medical/mental health facilities.
• Accurately type and report information using a government-issued computer system.
• Operate independently, collaborate as part of an investigative team, and coordinate with a Field Manager.
• Undertake future tasks within Peraton’s Risk Decision Group.
• A minimum of 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor’s degree may be considered.
• Previous experience in conducting federal background investigations is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility for a Top Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Daily local and out-of-area travel is mandatory.
• Candidates must reside within the specified mileage requirement.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential.
• Adequate motor vehicle insurance is required.
• Typing skills must be accurate and efficient; a minimum of 40+ WPM is recommended.
• Proficiency in using multiple computer programs simultaneously is necessary.
• Candidates must be able to speak, hear, record, read, and transcribe accurately.
• Strong grammar and writing abilities are required.
• Professional demeanor, attendance, punctuality, attention to detail, confidentiality, ethics, and integrity are essential.
• Professional attire is mandatory.
• The ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds, climb stairs, walk extensively, stand for extended periods, and drive in adverse or nighttime conditions is required.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment under remote supervision is essential.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and prioritization skills are necessary.
