This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Successfully complete a full-time 6–7 week Investigator training program to gain certification in the Federal Investigative Standards.
• Engage in daily travel to conduct in-person background investigations to evaluate employment suitability for individuals needing access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information.
• Organize and conduct face-to-face interviews with subjects, neighbors, employers, friends, and family members.
• Execute record searches at police departments, courthouses, educational institutions, financial entities, and medical/mental health facilities.
• Clearly and concisely document obtained information using a government-issued computer system.
• Operate independently as part of an Investigator team and collaborate with a Field Manager.
• A minimum of 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor’s degree is acceptable.
• Preferred experience in conducting federal background investigations.
• Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret eligible clearance.
• An active federal background investigation with a T5 adjudication is preferred.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Required daily local travel and potential travel outside the primary work area as necessary.
• Temporary Duty Assignments or remote travel lasting 14–30 days away from home may be needed.
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Temecula city center.
• A valid driver’s license and full-time access to reliable transportation are required.
• Sufficient motor vehicle insurance is mandatory.
• Must possess accurate and efficient typing skills; a typing speed of 40+ WPM is recommended.
• Ability to operate multiple computer programs concurrently.
• Capability to speak for extended periods and hear adequately to communicate in person and over the phone.
• Competence in recording, reading, and transcribing words and numbers accurately.
• Strong grammar and writing abilities.
• Professional interaction skills, along with punctuality, attention to detail, confidentiality, ethics, and integrity, are essential.
• Professional attire is required.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds, climb stairs, walk extensively, stand for prolonged periods, and drive in adverse or nighttime conditions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with remote supervision.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and prioritization skills.
• Excellent writing and communication skills are necessary.
• Full-time employment.
• Participation in a 6–7 week new Investigator training program, offered both virtually and in person.
